B.1997 Sam MacInnes lives and works from his studio in Glasgow. His work deals with the lived environment he finds himself in. Through adapting his experiences and inspirations he creates for himself a world in which he shares his characters.
Having completed an MA at the Edinburgh College of Art, Sam had his debut solo exhibition in Edinburgh late in 2020.
Through breathing life into his cast of merry characters, he creates an imagined world of adolescent banter and debauchery and excess, while an honest vulnerability that is rarely seen in young men.
His work is bright, energetic and brash, with an underlying charm that is impossible not to enjoy.
